Comparing Blogger & Tangelo

Blogger is certainly easier to setup.
Advantages of Blogger include:
  1. Comments builtin

  2. Easier to choose a template

Advantages of Tangelo include:
  1. Can host on own server

  2. Simpler Image Access

  3. More control of template - BUT requires significant HTML & CSS editing

OK - so MarsEdit doesn't automatically create a heading for posts - so you need to use the heading tags from the HTML menu on your first line of the post to create a heading!
Here's a couple of pics of the new MacMini - very cool little machine!

Inserting an image via html

Links 2

Hmmm... link rendered as plain text.
Lets try some HTML

So... how do external links render?

Basically done!

Not much more to be done really. I like the group blog capability, and the external hosting option is interesting (via FTP). It will be interesting to compare to creating a Blog using 'Tangelo' on the ltxserver.

Blog Setup

Linking to an external image for my profile was as simple as pointing Blogger to my web servers image folder. Clicking on 'Settings' above allowed choice of basic setup needed. An atom newsfeed is crreated automatically. NetNewsWire reads the atom feed.

First Post

Setup has been very straightforward so far. Will attempt to get newsfeed working.
